Hi, I'm Becca. Welcome to NoDown Network, a site about moving and storage.

When I moved across the country, I had to decide whether to sell, give away or store what I owned. I didn't want to start over or part with things that mattered, so most of it went into storage and the rest came with me. I learned a lot of it the hard way: which boxes crush, how damp gets into a unit, why a fridge has to stand before you plug it in, and what movers will and won't take.

Every guide here starts from one real job – packing the dishes, getting a dresser down the stairs, keeping a storage unit dry, choosing a truck size – and works through it step by step, including the free way where there is one. When a supply or tool genuinely makes the job safer or easier, I name it and say who can skip it.
